pre-registration period - began in March and the Locog (London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games) has been busy collating all of the information to establish an idea of which sports are proving the most popular, and for which demographics.

By registering, prospective spectators provide Locog with information about the events that they might like to purchase when the tickets become available. They also provide basic details, which will then be used as the first stage of the ticketing ballot system when it is released in 2011.

• There will be 9.6million tickets for sale - 8million for the Olympics and 1.6million for the Paralympics.
• Organisers say 75 per cent of all tickets will cost less than £50 and offer free travel on London transport.
• Tickets for the athletics will start at £15 and there will be 20,000 £10 tickets for the Olympic Park to watch events on big screens.

Research of the initial registration process has shown track and field, swimming and gymnastics are the top three sports that the British public want to purchase.
Opening and closing ceremonies, track cycling, swimming and weightlifting will be the hardest to get, mainly because these sports are played in smaller sized venues and the ceremonies are always in extremely high demand.
For all of the sessions that are over-subscribed – and these are expected to include swimming and diving, beach volleyball, boxing, tennis, track and field finals, gymnastics, track cycling – there will be a ballot.

OLYMPIC PARK PREVIEW

The London 2012 Games will be centered around all over the world, which will be the site of a number of new sports venues. There are about 180,000 spectators a day will enter the Olympic Park to enjoy the Games, making it the principal focus of Olympic activity in summer 2012.

The main venues – the Olympic Stadium, Aquatic Centre, Velodrome and BMX Circuit, as well as the hockey, handball and basketball arenas – will be easily accessible through a network of footbridges and walkways within the Park. The Olympic Village will be within walking distance of all the venues in the Park, enhancing the experience for athletes and officials.

The use of other prestigious venues – such as Wembley Stadium for football, the All-England Club in Wimbledon for tennis, Lord’s Cricket Ground for archery and Horse Guards Parade for beach volleyball – is also a feature of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The London 2012 Games include a four-year Cultural Olympiad, which is already underway. It will reach a climax with the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony on 27 July 2012, starting a 60-day festival of sport and culture across the UK, as the Olympic and Paralympic spirit crosses the world once again.

London Velodrome 2012

This is the velodrome, the nearly completion of the structure. These stunning view above could be a medal factory for British cyclist in the upcoming 2010 LONDON Olympic.

Way back into 2008 Beijing Olympic, London gather seven out of ten titles with multiple medals in four events at Laoshan Velodrome. Olympians and cycling champions showing their two thumbs up and impressed as they visit and saw the ongoing construction of the infrastructure.

The 6,000-capacity complex, costing 80 million pounds ($121.6 million), is scheduled to be the first of the major venues in the Olympic Park to be completed early next year after its sweeping double curved roof was recently lifted into place.
